We recently caught up over a brew with one of the lovely residents at Fold Farm to talk about their beautiful home and the experience of buying a Holroyd Home.

 

It’s lovely to catch up with you, Angie! Can you begin by describing your new home?

Well, we just absolutely love it!

Our home is a light, bright and airy space – especially the open-plan living space which we just adore. It’s on a huge plot with a really generous garden set in a beautiful location with an abundance of greenery around.

What sets our new home at Fold Farm apart from other new build homes is the quality; both in the build and the quality of the materials. The joy of moving into our home at Fold Farm was that it was brand new with no work required at all – not even a little bit of snagging after moving in!

What initially attracted you to the homes at Fold Farm?

I found out about the Fold Farm development through social media and I loved the look of the homes straightaway! Moving home wasn’t necessarily on our radar at the time but the location was perfect and I was really interested in finding out more about the homes as they seemed perfect. However, my husband Steve was initially reluctant to come and see the new development as he didn’t particularly want to move from our house in Meltham and so after a bit of persuasion I managed to convince him to at least come and have a look!

At that time, the phase II homes were still being built so we came to get a sense of the overall development, the setting and to look at the quality of the finished phase I homes. We stood and looked at the development and my husband immediately went quiet, and I sensed straightaway that he loved the homes as much as I did. From that moment he was as keen as I was to buy a home at Fold Farm!

What were the deciding factors when buying your new home?

We didn’t want an ordinary new build, and the homes at Fold Farm are definitely not ordinary. The homes have been built using beautiful, traditional sandstone and look stunning externally. Internally there’s a high specification throughout and we loved the process of coming to make choices to customize our kitchen and bathrooms.

Another aspect we really liked about the homes at Fold Farm was the proximity to the local villages. We’re only 5 minutes from Honley or Meltham yet we’re in a beautiful semi-rural setting – it’s the best of both worlds!

We also really liked that we’d be part of a small community at Fold Farm. Since moving into our home, we’ve met most of our neighbours at Fold Farm and everyone seems so lovely.

What do you love most about your new home?

I just genuinely love absolutely everything about it! The kitchen / garden room is my favorite space and where we spend most of our time. We love the appliances in the kitchen and didn’t know I needed a Quooker tap in my life until we moved in at Fold Farm – we just adore it!

The whole house has a fabulous sense of space and feels so serene. We love waking up to the view from our master bedroom; I feel so lucky to wake up to the amazing view from Fold Farm every day.

What was your experience like of buying a Holroyd Home?

It’s been great right from the very beginning.

We first met Rob and Louise from Wm Sykes at one of the phase II open days. We loved the opportunity to visit the development during the open days and the agents were fantastic throughout the entire process. Their knowledge of the properties was superb and they were always able to answer any questions that we had. They were on hand when we went to make our kitchen and bathroom choices and we’ve overall had nothing but a great experience with Wm Sykes.

We really enjoyed following the progress on our home as it was being built on the Holroyd Homes Instagram account. The social media accounts were informative and kept us in the loop with progress and we loved following the journey as our house was being built.

The Holroyd Homes team have also been wonderful. They’ve consistently been friendly and helpful and have been respectful when carrying out additional groundworks on site. Danny, the site manager, has been particularly helpful from day one.

Would you recommend Holroyd Homes to others?

To everyone. Absolutely everyone!

When we moved in we couldn’t find a single bit of snagging that needed doing; to me that speaks volumes in terms of the high quality throughout our home. We fully expected with it being a new build home that we’d compile a list of snags that required attention, but this hasn’t been the case. Everything is finished to such a high standard and the finish everywhere is excellent and we can’t find fault with anything!

The attention to detail is something else and we can’t express how happy we are to live here at Fold Farm. We absolutely love living here.
