Meet Adam Devlin! He’s a highly skilled, conscientious joiner and plays a key role within our team here at Holroyd Homes. Here, Adam tells us a bit about his joinery role and what he loves about his job.
How long have you worked in your role as a joiner?
I’ve been a joiner for the last 16 and a half years and have worked with Holroyd Homes for the last 3 years.
Talk us through what a typical day is like for you
It’s always an early start on site and my role depends on what stage of the build we’re at. We’re preparing to welcome the first residents to Fold Farm in the very near future and so we’re working towards getting the Phase 1 homes all completed and ready for their new owners. From a joinery perspective, I’m currently fitting the second fix joinery items such as the doors, architraves and skirting boards. It’s great seeing it all come together nicely!
No one day is the same and soon we’ll be starting all over again with the Phase 2 properties; this will initially involve first fix joinery items such as the roof trusses and wall partitions.
What do you love most about your job?
I take a lot of job satisfaction from my role and the fact that I’m part of a small team working together towards the same end goal. I take a lot of satisfaction from looking at the finished homes, knowing that I’ve played a part in helping to achieve it. I remember what the site was like before, and it’s amazing to think what’s been created from scratch.
I also like the fact that the job keeps me on my toes; because the homes are all bespoke it keeps me thinking laterally around new challenges.
Why should someone buy a ‘Holroyd Home?’
You’d be buying a home that’s been built by a team who are conscientious and care about their work, and this is really reflected in the end product. The homes are beautifully presented and are finished to the highest standard.
Can you give us an interesting fact about yourself?
I married Demi Moore! Obviously not the American actress, but I do think her parents must have been a fan of Ghost back in the day!
Where can we find you when you’re not at work?
Demi and I have a 2-year-old son so he keeps us busy most of the time! I’ve got a great circle of friends who I see often and I’m also a Town season ticket holder so I like to get down there when I can.
