Local amenities within easy walking distance

Netherton village is just a short stroll around the corner and is home to an array of shops and local amenities. Nearby, residents are spoilt for choice when it comes to places to eat and drink in the local area; Toast is in a great spot in the heart of Netherton and is good option to grab brunch on a weekend! The Sons Of The North is a dog and child friendly café, situated at The North Lights Gallery. Netherton village also benefits from having its own pub, The Beaumont Arms, a great place to enjoy some pub grub and a beverage (or two!).

Britain’s oldest farm shop, Hinchliffe’s, is home to award winning pies, sausages and bacon from the butchery, freshly baked bread and cakes from the on-site bakery and freshly laid eggs from their hens. The adjoining Rusty Bull restaurant offers a selection of different food menus – we can highly recommend the breakfast options! Keep your eyes peeled as we’ll soon be sharing a circular walk from Fold Farm to Hinchcliffe’s – a lovely family activity you can enjoy on a weekend!

The thriving village of Honley offers an abundance of restaurants, cafes and drinking options. One of our firm favourites is Wired Coffee and Cake which offer freshly roasted coffee, alongside handmade cakes, bakes and food – another great stop for a weekend brunch! For casual social dining, Punch Bar and Tapas is in the heart of Honley, as is Savaro who offer authentic Lebanese food. Krafty is a great bar in the heart of Honley, a must-try if you’re a fan of craft beer, cocktails and gin!

Honley centre

Honley is also home to lots of hair and beauty salons such as the very popular You Hair Salon and Changes Beauty Salon. Honley has it’s own train station and hosts its annual Honley Show (like a local version of the Great Yorkshire Show).

It’s great to have Beaumont Park in the nearby area, a particularly lovely place for young families since the recent addition of a huge, new children’s play area.

The great outdoors

Nestled in beautiful woodland overlooking the spectacular Magdale Valley and bordering the Netherton Fold Conservation Area, Fold Farm is a truly special setting. Having an endless network of footpaths on your doorstep makes it easy to explore the breath-taking scenery by foot, allowing you to quickly escape everyday life and enjoy the glorious countryside. For the keen cyclists among us, the now world-renowned cycling terrain of the Holme Valley is not far from Fold Farm, as is the stunning Peak District National Park.

What else?

Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield are within easy reach by both train and car, so you’re able to live in a rural setting whilst enjoying the benefits of access to vibrant cities for work or social reasons.

If you have young children, Honley Day Care and Pre-prep school is conveniently located and is currently rated Good by Ofsted. Once your little ones reach school age, Netherton Infant and Nursery school, which is a few minutes’ walk away, was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2018. Fold Farm is within the Honley High School catchment area, which was made an academy in 2019 and is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. Following school, Greenhead College, located in Huddersfield Town Centre, is one of the top performing 6th form colleges in the country.

Residents at Fold Farm can enjoy the best of both worlds, with a rural, village setting and country lifestyle, whilst having access to plenty of modern facilities and transport links.
