We’re so excited to be collaborating with Daval who are providing 19 stunning made to measure kitchens for our Fold Farm development.

Here, they tell us what stand out features you can expect to see from the Fold Farm kitchens going in, why the Daval/Holroyd Homes collaboration is a perfect match and a bit about the history behind their family-run, local business.

We’re really excited to be collaborating with you for our development at Fold Farm. Let’s start by asking you about the history behind Daval.

Daval is located at Spa Fields Industrial Estate at the heart of Slaithwaite, where we have a kitchen and bedroom showroom and a 100,000sq. ft factory where all our cabinetry is made to order.

The company was founded In July 1978 by cabinet maker David Bodsworth and his wife, Alyson. Today, Daval remains an independent family business and is lovingly run by David and Alyson’s three sons Simon, Paul and James.

While we now create bespoke spaces for homes across the UK and operate from a 100,000 square foot head office, factory and showroom, our family’s long-standing commitment to British manufacturing remains.

We are immensely proud that every piece of furniture we produce continues to be made right here in the same valley where the Daval story began, meaning when you choose Daval, you choose quality British craftmanship.

The development is in a beautiful setting and the homes are all individually designed. Tell us how a Daval kitchen will complement the 19 homes at Fold Farm so well.

Each home has been designed to maximise the amazing natural light flooding through the bi-fold doors and skylights, which really gave us an amazing starting point for designing the layout of every kitchen.

Each kitchen has been lovingly designed with many years of knowledge and expertise behind it, which perfectly matches the design and build process behind the homes at Fold Farm. Every one is the perfect blend of modern and contemporary, blending in enough to let the architecture of the property do the talking, but standing out enough to create that real wow factor.

As a family business ourselves, we’ve enjoyed working with the Holroyd Homes team to design and specify each kitchen as we’ve been able to bring together the passion for quality and design that sits at the heart of both companies to create something really special that is bespoke and made-to-measure for each of the 19 homes.

Nineteen top specification kitchens are going in at Fold Farm. What stand out features can we expect to see?

The first stand-out feature is the level of craftsmanship that goes into each kitchen at Fold Farm.

Once each of the lucky homeowners at Fold Farm have chosen their cabinetry colour and worktops from a special collection of curated colour pallettes, their kitchen will then be individually made-to-order locally at our HQ and factory in Slaithwaite, before being fitted in their new home by our team of expertly trained fitters.

Each kitchen also benefits from high-end design features and luxury hardware to ensure every homeowner gets only the very best. This includes Quooker taps as standard in all kitchens; the Quooker tap is the only instant boiling water tap on the market and is fantastic for immediate boiling water. The Quookers we’ve specified for Fold Farm also have the additional pull-out spray nozzle which is perfect for rinsing dishes and crockery.

Many of the kitchens will feature top-of-the-range Bora hobs which extract downwards into the hob itself to keep steam and cooking odours to an absolute minimum. These are fantastic as they mean there’s no need for an overhead extractor so you can achieve a much more pleasing aesthetic in your kitchen. Neff ovens also feature as well, really finishing off the high-end specification.

All worktops are premium Caesarstone quartz, which is one of nature’s hardest minerals and combines beauty with outstanding durability and performance for every kitchen.

More and more people seem to be opting for locally crafted kitchens. Why do you think this is? What sets you apart from other kitchen suppliers?

When we spend money on our homes, we want the very best in terms of both the product and the level of service you receive. That’s what we’re passionate about at Daval and its what clients tell us they’re looking for when making these larger buying decisions.

There is also no mass production – instead, all the kitchens will be made-to-order once the new homeowners have chosen their colour palette and worktops from a specially curated selection that we’ve selected after careful consideration with the team at Holroyd Homes.

There’s also something special about knowing your new kitchen is being made locally in Slaithwaite, as you’re connected with its origins and its journey from factory to fitted in your home!

Every piece of Daval furniture is produced at their factory in the heart of Slaithwaite, Huddersfield
