We’re thrilled that Fold Farm has been shortlisted for Residential Development of the Year (fewer than 100 homes) at the Insider Media Yorkshire Property Awards! The event is taking place this week and we’re very excited about attending – it promises to be a great evening!

We’re a small-scale family-run business; we’re all born and bred in Huddersfield and we have a passion for creating bespoke homes in spectacular locations in the local area. We’re delighted to have been shortlisted and to have received this kind of recognition.

Ahead of the event, which takes place on Thursday, we thought we’d review a few of the key features that make Fold Farm a truly stand-out development in our local area.

Location

A former dairy farm that in more recent times had become a derelict eye-sore, Fold Farm is now a well-regarded, bespoke development consisting of 19 luxury homes. The reason that its location is truly exceptional is twofold; it’s positioned in a superb tranquil location, bordering a conservation area – yet it’s still conveniently located within close proximity to amenities such a local shops and schools. This ensures homeowners can enjoy the best of both worlds and it’s part of our formula for creating perfect family homes.

Gardens are 50% larger than the UK national average

When we acquired Fold Farm it had planning permission approved for a larger scheme. We felt that the unique setting demanded a truly special development. We therefore decided to re-submit for a scheme with fewer dwellings and designed the properties in a linear arrangement. The homes now benefit from gardens that are 50% larger than the UK national average and residents enjoy private gardens.

Homes that blend seamlessly with their beautiful environment

Natural materials have been used to build the new homes which blend perfectly with their surroundings; each home has been lovingly planted up with trees and shrubs and collectively this forms a beautiful environment at Fold Farm.

Light, spacious homes with an impressive specification

Fold Farm boasts many examples of heritage style materials being masterfully blended alongside contemporary elements; beautifully-aged natural stone and local vernacular sit alongside large swathes of glazing and bi-folding doors. Each home has a mixture of feature glazing throughout in many different forms, allowing residents to not only benefit from the well-documented benefits associated with natural light, but also make the most of the breathtaking rural views.

An unrivalled specification comes as standard with each home and includes underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, aluminium powder coated bi-folding doors and stunning solid ash and glass staircases.

Beautiful, large open-plan living spaces have been individually and meticulously designed to ensure they meet the demands of modern family living and feature exquisite state-of-the-art elements throughout. The hub of the home is our signature ‘wow’ feature, with a luxurious made-to-measure kitchen by Daval, complimented by Quooker taps, a wine cooler and solid quartz Caesarstone worktops alongside high-quality appliances such as Neff and Bora.

Attention to detail

Our team consists of skilled, local tradespeople who lovingly construct each home and take great pride in their work and the attention to detail – and it really does shows in the quality of the finish in our homes.

We put our hearts into creating homes to be proud of and put a lot of consideration into getting every aspect just right, and this makes us different from other housebuilders.
